FOCUS will be on veterans Cha Cruz, Paneng Mercado and Chie Saet as F2 Logistics looks to make an immediate impact when it debuts in the 2016 Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference starting on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.

Rose Marie Prochina and Nene Ybanez-Chavez will again work together as coaches, the former Southeast Asian Games gold medalists hoping to inspire the young crew that also has Danika Gendrauli, Lilet Mabbayad, Pau Soriano and libero Len Cortel.

Prochina is pleased to have Cruz, as the 27-year-old league ambassador who takes an active role in mentoring the young players,

"Cha is playing like a true leader. We're still in the process of developing our chemistry and fluidity, but Cha is making the transition very smooth. She is our leader inside and outside the court."

Although recently assembled, the Cargo Movers are expected to give league heavyweights such as Foton, Petron, Army and Cignal a run for their money.

"We want to be very competitive while having fun at the same time," said F2 Logistics Philippines, Inc. president Efren Uy.

"The PSL is a very tough league. All the country's best players are here. Since we are a new team, we are tempering our expectations. We just want to play competitive volleyball knowing that victories will soon follow. We just have to enjoy the moment and take it one game at a time," Uy added.

Prochina and Chavez, members of the squad that won the country's last gold medal in women's volleyball in the 1993 SEA Games in Singapore, worked together before at Mane N Tail.

The Cargo Movers will open their season against fellow newcomer San Jose Builders on Thursday. Matches of the interclub tournament will be aired live over TV5.

"All teams are strong, but Army remains the strongest," said Prochina, noting that the Lady Troopers have recalled Rachel Anne Daquis from Petron.

The Petron Tri-Active Spikers acquired the services of veteran Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Bang Pineda as well as rookies CJ Rosario and Angel Legacion. The Toplanders, meanwhile, tapped former University of Santo Tomas stars Angeli Tabaquero, Rhea Dimaculangan and Maika Ortiz.

"We will do our best to make an instant impact."
