BACOLOD City — F2 Logistics kicked off its campaign in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on a high note after downing erstwhile unbeaten Petron, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, on Saturday at the University of St. La Salle here.
The Cargo Movers leaned on American import Kennedy Bryan and Venezuelan reinforcement Maria Jose Perez to secure the win for the team's rousing debut.
Perez had 18 points in her league debut, all from spikes, while Bryan added 14, the same output of Kim Dy.
“Breaks of the game lang siguro. Kita naman noong third set at second set may mga lapses pa kami sa rotation,” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus.
“Siguro factor nga na hindi pa nila kami nakikita maglaro,” he added of the Cargo Movers’ win over the Blaze Spikers.
“Pero alam naman nila kung paano kami maglaro, alam din namin kung paano kami maglaro. Kilala din nila imports namin so siguro hindi naman sobrang laki ng bentahe namin.”
American hitter Hillary Hurley poured in 21 points for Petron, but her efforts went down the drain as the Blaze Spikers’ saw their three-game winning run come to an end for a 3-1 mark.
Comebacking American spiker Lindsay Stalzer and skipper Ces Molina each had 13 points for Petron.
