IMUS CITY — Defending champion F2 Logistics came from a set down to turn back Sta. Lucia, 18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21, in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Tuesday at Imus Sports Complex.

Venezuelan import Maria Jose Perez finished with 21 points, built on 20 kills, for the Cargo Movers while American reinforcement Kennedy Bryan and Aby Maraño each had 13 markers.

The Cargo Movers improved to 3-1 after a fitting follow-up to their win over winless Smart while Sta. Lucia slipped to 2-3, good for a tie with Foton at the fourth spot.

“Nangangapa pa sila noong first set, medyo nagbabasahan pa sila, kaya medyo pangit ang umpisa namin,” said F2 Logistics assistant coach Noel Orcullo.

“Pero ang maganda naman doon eh nakabawi sila at nag-respond sila, nakita namin na kaya nilang bumawi,” he added.

F2 Logistics reached match point at 24-19 before Ara Galang’s back-to-back attack errors gave Sta. Lucia a semblance of hope. But Maraño’s powerful hit ended the match.
