CHA Cruz proved she’s indeed Miss Everything when she delivered in the clutch for F2 Logistics to defeat Petron, 25-20, 24-26, 14-25, 25-19, 15-4 in Game Two of the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix finals on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
The former La Salle captain scored eight points, including three in each of the fourth and fifth sets to bail out the Cargo Movers.
But Cruz, who came off the bench, deflected the credit.
“Ako, as in deep in my heart, I have the spirit na I really wanna play, I wanna contribute to the team, perfect timing napasok ako and I was able to deliver,” she said.
While Petron had an early celebration when it held a 9-0 lead in the fourth set, F2 Logistics remained focused.
“For the second and third sets, we tend to focus on the score, sa fourth set we didn’t wanna focus on the score especially ang layo,” said Cruz. “We had to take one step at a time, one point at a time, para pag nakapunta na kami dun we can do our game na, it was all timing.”
“Nung nabigyan kami ng chance, nakuha namin ang fourth set, we claimed the game na kaya namin makabawi,” she added.
Game Three is on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
