DEFENDING champion F2 Logistics defeated Marinerang Pilipina, 25-14, 25-17, 25-11, for its first win in the Philippine Superliga Invitationals on Monday at the Arena in San Juan City.

The Cargo Movers bounced back from a three-set loss to Petron on Saturday by stopping the Lady Skippers in an hour and 13 minutes.

Ara Galang scored 17 off 14 kills and three blocks.

Majoy Baron came up with four of the team’s 10 kill blocks, while scoring on five kills and three aces to finish with 12 points, while Kim Dy also had 12 markers.

Desiree Cheng had nine markers and 13 digs, Kim Fajardo had 21 excellent sets and Dawn Macandili had 16 digs and four excellent receptions.

“Parang sa vacation mode pa ata nung last game sabi ko it’s a wake up call pero alam ko naman yung team mag-aadjust agad,” said F2 coach Ramil De Jesus.

“Eto yung galaw ng F2 na magkakakilala, hindi yung last time na namamatay yung bola nagtitinginan so malaking yung adjustment na ginawa nila,” he added.

F2 plays Generika-Ayala on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Sta. Rosa Multipurpose Sports Complex in Laguna.

Caitlyn Viray scored 12 points for Marinerang Pilipina, winless in two matches.

The Lady Skippers face Petron at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
