F2 Logistics fought its way back from a two-set disadvantage to edge Generika-Ayala, 22-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-10, and secure a semifinals berth in the Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference on Saturday at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Kianna Dy ignited the comeback of Cargo Movers as she unloaded 23 points built on 17 attacks, five blocks and an ace to turn down the upset ax of the Lifesavers.

Dy, who also had 18 digs, said that the motivational words of head coach Ramil De Jesus and veteran middle blocker Aby Maraño sparked their fight back.

“Kinausap kami ni coach na hindi pwedeng matatalo lang tayo ng ganyan and alam namin na we started slow and kailangan namin bawiin sa next sets,” said the hard-hitting opposite spiker. “Sabi ni ate Aby na remember kung sino kami tsaka kailangan bawi agad kami.”

F2 Logistics locked the top place of Pool D with a 4-1 win-loss record and will face the second placer of Pool C, Cignal (5-1), in the knockout semifinals on Tuesday at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.

Foton and Sta. Lucia, who are tied at 2-3 card in Pool D, will fight for the last semis berth as the Tornadoes take on Generika-Ayala on Sunday at the Arena in San Juan City, while the Lady Realtors battle the Cargo Movers.

Generika-Ayala bombed out of semis contention dropping to 1-4 card as it failed to close out its two-set lead.

Patty Orendain and Mean Mendrez led the Lifesavers with 20 and 18 points, respectively. Fiola Ceballos had 12 points, 23 digs and 10 receptions, while Ria Meneses also added 12 markers, highlighted by five blocks.
