AFTER her 38-point production, Cocolife import Sara Klisura insisted that she has to double her efforts as they enter the next round of the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix.
The prolific Serbian spiker was three points shy of her personal best and league record when the Asset Managers lost to Petron, 24-26, 18-25, 25-21, 20-25, late Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
“Thirty-eight (points)? Oh god. I didn’t know honestly. But it was not enough, we didn’t win. So my points are not so important because we lost,” said Klisura, who also had 17 digs and 12 excellent sets.
Cocolife finished the first round with a 4-3 win-loss card at the No. 3 spot and will join No. 1 seed Petron, Cignal and Smart in Pool A.
Based on the league format, there will be another round of action per group to determine their quarterfinal standing.
The winners in the quarterfinals will play in a best-of-three semifinal series before they can advance to the best-of-three finals.
“We just have to be better, I have to be better. I think I can give a better performance than what I did now so I will try to give my best as always,” stressed Klisura.
“Of course it’s hard, it’s not easy. Sometimes in the first set I’m already tired but you cannot give up because winners never give up, right?,” she added.
Cocolife will wait for its opponent as six other teams are not yet done in the first round.
