COCOLIFE bagged its second straight win in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Thursday, defeating Sta. Lucia, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-16, at The Arena in San Juan.
Serbian import Sara Klisura and American hitter Taylor Milton delivered the goods with 19 and 18 points, respectively, as the Asset Managers moved back to .500 after a 0-2 start to the season.
“We started really bad but thanks God we came back so that’s the teamwork,” said Cocolife team captain Klisura, who also had 11 digs.
Ukranian import Bohdana Anisova scored 25 points, from 22 hits and three blocks, for Sta. Lucia, which dropped to 1-2.
Klisura added they need to accumulate as many wins as they can to build momentum in a tournament featuring tougher opposition.
“This is very important, every game is important, because it’s a much stronger Grand Prix than last year so every win counts and we have a lot of more games to play so we will see,” she said.
“We need to improve on probably the serve-receive, those are the most important things. If you have good serve and good receive, you have good everything,” she added.
