Coach Ramil de Jesus expresses disappointment over outputs of Meralco imports

    Nov 1, 2015

MERALCO is winless after one round but coach Ramil de Jesus believes they can still revive their hopes in the Super Liga Grand Prix.

At the bottom with a 0-5 win-loss record, De Jesus says he is surprised to see the locals doing better than imports Liis Kullerkann and Christina Alessi.

De Jesus said he told the imports he expects 20 points per match from them but neither has hit the mark. Kullerkan is averaging 11.8 points, while Alessi has averaged only five points.

"Last time nga kinausap ko na, sabi ko nag-eexpect ako sa kanila at least maximum 20 points per game pero 'di pa nangyayari. Siguro pag inabot na nila 'yung 20 (points) saka kami mananalo," he said in jest.

Kaso andito na 'to, kailangan mo na igapang 'to, 'di mo naman pwede isauli," he added.

Kullerkan is from Ohio State University and Alessi is a former Palm Beach Atlanta University player.

"Although mataas 'yung level maglaro siguro there are times na kulang 'yung floor defense medyo hindi maganda 'yung laterals.

Still, De Jesus remains optimistic they could turn things around. They faces defending champion Petron on Thursday.
