CIGNAL continued to flaunt its strong connection, dominating Foton, 25-18, 25-18, 25-10, to remain perfect in the Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The troika of Jannine Navarro, Rachel Anne Daquis and Roselyn Doria, once again, led the balanced-attack of the HD Spikers to prevail in a lopsided one-hour and 17-minute affair.
Navarro showed the way with 12 points, all coming from attacks. Daquis delivered 11 points, while Doria, who came from the women’s national team build-up in Thailand last week, two blocks and an ace.
Philippine team member Alohi Robins-Hardy also paced the squad with 19 excellent sets on top of seven digs and five points as Cignal remained unbeaten in its first two Pool A games without dropping a single set.

Cignal head coach Edgar Barroga gave credit to their fluid movement on offense and defense.
“Tumaas yung level when it comes to instinct. Iba yung galaw nila e. Kita mo yung depensa, nagawa namin yung pattern namin although may mangilan ngilang (lapses) pero pag niremind mo go na kaagad sila,” said Barroga. “Ang linis ng kilos nila kaya medyo happy talaga.”
Sisters EJ and Eya Laure made their first start together for Foton leading the way with nine and eight points, respectively, only to be spoiled as it absorbed its second straight loss in the group.
