RACHEL Anne Daquis is urging the Cignal HD Spikers to focus on the job as Jovelyn Gonzaga recovers from a knee injury.
Gonzaga is out at least two weeks after hurting her right knee in the HD Spikers’ loss to F2 Logistics on Tuesday.
Mylene Paat is among those expected to step up along with Daquis as they try to help Australian import Beth Carey and American reinforcement Alexis Matthews carry the scoring load.
Cignal has only two wins in six outings.
“Syempre heart broken pero nasa middle kami ng laban kaya dapat tuloy pa rin pero kahit papano teammate namin siya naapektuhan kami,” said Daquis, Gonzaga’s best buddy.
“Ito ang pinaka lowest point namin so wala na kaming pupuntahan kundi pataas, mag bounce back,” she added.
The former Far Eastern University standout also believes that the situation will only make them tougher.
“Challenge talaga ang nangyayari sa amin pero naniniwala kami na may purpose lahat and may faith kami kay God na lahat naan ‘to may reason ang nangyayari,” said Daquis.
“We have to move on and move forward to the next,” she added.
Cignal looks to get back on track when it takes on Sta. Lucia (1-4) on Thursday.
