BACOOR City — CIGNAL stalwart Mylene Paat did not disappoint their skipper Rachel Anne Daquis as the former delivered the goods for the HD Spikers in the Philippine Super Liga Invitational Conference.
The former Adamson University star finished with 12 points, from seven attacks, four blocks and one service ace in Cignal’s 25-10, 26-24, 25-18 win over Smart on Thursday at Strike Gym.
After their win over University of the East-UE on Tuesday, Daquis urged her teammates to step up and Paat heeded her call.
“Sabi nila (Ate Rachel) na kailangan lahat mag-step up and nakikita ko naman ‘yun sa bawat isa na nagpupursige and lalong nagsisipag,” she said.
Paat stressed that although she played a vital role in their second win in as many games, she won’t pressure herself in their succeeding games.
“‘Yun naman ang sinasabi ko palagi sa sarili ko, one game at a time lang kasi kapag nagmadali ka doon ka pa magkakamali,” she said.
“Kasi kung ano ang nangyayari sa training ‘yun din ang ipapakita mo sa game kaya ako sa training pa lang all out na ako at saka no pressure lang,” she added.
Cignal will face Sta. Lucia on Tuesday and Cocolife on July 14. The HD Spikers will be up against the national team in a non-bearing game on July 10.
