CIGNAL arranged a semis duel with F2 Logistics after a straight-set win over Cocolife, 25-17, 25-10, 25-20, in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
National team member Jovelyn Gonzaga finished with 11 points for the HD Spikers, while Rachel Anne Daquis and Royse Tubino added 10 markers apiece and Mylene Paat had nine points for the HD Spikers.
"Paghahandaan namin talaga 'yan kasi kapag natalo kami, masasayang ang lahat ng pinaghirapan namin," said Cignal coach George Pascua.
The HD Spikers looked to finish off the match easily after they put up a 19-14 lead before Cocolife cut the gap down to one, 20-21, on a Wensh Tiu off-the-block attack.
Rachel Anne Daquis sparked a 4-0 run for the HD Spikers to win the match.
"Problema namin 'yung communication, medyo nagrelax kami (sa third set)," said Pascua. "Na-manage naman namin noong huli gawa ng palitan ng tao."
Skipper Michele Gumabao had seven points for Cocolife, which dropped to the battle for 5th-8th.
