China's Ba'yi Shenzheng outlasts Bangkok Glass to arrange showdown with Foton Pilipinas

Ba'yi Shenzheng remained unbeaten after the win over Bangkok Glass.

BIÑAN CITY - Ba'yi Shenzheng of China turned back defending champion Bangkok Glass, 16-25, 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 15-8, in Pool F of the classification for quarterfinal placing of the 2016 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship on Wednesday night at Alonte Sports Arena.

Liu Yan Han led the way with 28 points, anchored on 25 kills, while Wang Yun Lu added 16 and Yang Jun Jin and Wang Yan chipped in 12 markers apiece for Ba'yi Shenzheng, which remained unbeaten for a 3-0 carryover win-loss record to arrange a showdown with Pool E No. 4 seed Foton Pilipinas in the knockout quarterfinals on Friday.

The match was an exchange of powerful attacks from both teams, with Ba'yi Shenzheng scoring 62 kills against the 63 of Bangkok Glass. China also had more blocks (13-8) and more service aces (6-5).

Last year's MVP and Bangkok Glass skipper Pleumjit Thinkaow made 17 points while Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hao and Jutarat Montripila each had 16 markers and Wilavan Apinyapong contributed 15.

Bangkok Glass will face Thongtin Lien Viet Post Bank of Vietnam in the knockout quarterfinals.
