MARINERANG Pilipina spiker Chiara Permentilla was initially diagnosed with a lateral ligament sprain on her left knee and won’t be returning in the remainder of their match against Cignal in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Arena in San Juan City.

After her attack was denied by Cignal’s 6-foot-2 setter Alohi Robins-Hardy tying the third set at 19-all, Permentilla hurt her left knee as she landed on the floor.

The Adamson star wasn’t able to stand up and was stretchered off the playing court.

League Doctor Raul Alcantara said that his initial diagnosis is a lateral ligament sprain upon checking Permentilla’s left knee at the locker room.

After being down two sets, the Lady Skippers won the third set to force another one despite losing Permentilla.

Permentilla was the second player to suffer an injury in the PSL on the day as Generika-Ayala skipper Angeli Araneta also suffered a left knee injury late in the fifth set against F2 Logistics.
