LIPA, Batangas — Cignal downed winless Amy’s Kitchen, 14-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-14, on Thursday for its first win in the classification phase of the Philippine Super Liga All Filipino Conference at La Salle Lipa
Cherry May Vivas finished with 10 points, all from spikes, as the HD Spikers evened their record, 1-1, in the classification for fifth to eighth places.
Cignal coach Sammy Acaylar admitted that he has accepted the fact that they will no longer have the title but urged his wards to at least play with pride.
Jannine Navarro, Jeanette Panaga and Mela Tunay each had nine markers for the HD Spikers, who bounced back from a four-set loss to Generika.
Cignal will face Standard Insurance Navy on Saturday.
Cindy Imbo had 12 points, with nine hits, as Amy’s Kitchen remained winless in eight matches.
