SHOPINAS.COM top hitter Cha Cruz refused to blame fatigue after their loss to Petron in Game Two of the finals of the Philippine Super Liga All Filipino Conference on Thursday night.
The Lady Clickers charmer had just played nine tough sets in one afternoon and was coming off a 17-25, 25-22, 28-40, 17-25 loss to Petron, yet was gracious enough to grant reporters an interview at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Prior to the game, Cruz had played a five-setter in the Shakey's V-league for Meralco which lost to Philippine Army, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 9-15, at The Arena in San Juan.
Cruz, though, was in no mood to make excuses.
"First time sa akin nangyari ito na naglaro ako ng nine sets in one afternoon," Cruz told Spin.ph after the match. "Pero hindi, hindi naman (kami natalo) dahil sa pagod."
Still the PSL ambassadress was happy that their team fought until the very end.
"Pero I'm glad na hindi kami nag-give up, lumaban kami," she said. "And importante walang na-injured. It's not really for us this conference."
Just a few minutes after the end of the conference, Cruz was already looking forward to the next one.
"There's always another season," she concluded with a smile before heading to their dugout.
