DESPITE their big scoring output, Petron leaders Ces Molina and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas were quick to laud the Blaze Spikers’ teamwork in their win over Generika-Ayala in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference.
The national team members powered Petron to a 25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 25-18, victory on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Molina had 20 points from 15 kills, three blocks and two service aces, while Maizo added 17 from 13 hits and four rejections, in the one hour and 46-minute match.
But the two insisted that the win was achieved through the Blaze Spikers' collective effort.
“Wala, hindi naman (kami lang ni Ces) syempre teamwork ang nagdala sa amin,” said Maizo.
“Syempre nag-prepare kami as a team, nag-training kami as a team,” agreed Molina.
The Petron skipper stressed that it was never their goal to get individual success.
“Kami naman hindi naman namin iniisip ‘yung individual game na makapuntos, para sa team talaga and goal namin,” said Molina.
The Blaze Spikers improved their win-loss record to 3-1 in Group C.
