BACOOR, City — Sta. Lucia scored its first win in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix after it defeated Generika-Ayala, 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15, 15-7, on Tuesday at Bacoor Sports Complex.
Ukranian import Bohdana Anisova and Fil-Am spiker MJ Philipps finished with 28 and 22 points, respectively, for the Lady Realtors.
Sta. Lucia recovered from a four-set loss to Petron in the season-opener and evened its record to 1-1.
“Hopefully itong pagkapanalo namin, mas ‘yung eagerness nila na manalo ulit nandoon pa rin, ‘yung composure nila nandoon,” said Sta. Lucia coach George Pascua.
“‘Yun naman ang ine-aim namin na mag-improve kami every game,” he added.
The Lady Realtors, who only had nine blocks in their previous game, registered 16 total rejections in a match that took almost two hours to finish.
American import Symone Hayden made 27 points for Generika-Ayala, while Darlene Ramdin from Trinidad and Tobago had 20 markers.
The Life Savers slid to 0-2.
