ARA Galang felt as if she never left La Salle after F2 Logistics chose her as top overall pick in the 2016 Philippine Super Liga annual rookie draft on Friday at the Mall of Asia Music Hall Oval.
The 21-year old former Lady Spiker will be reunited with college teammates Mika Reyes, Kim Fajardo, Kim Dy, Majoy Baron, Dawn Macandili, Aby Marano and Cha Cruz under nine-time UAAP champion coach Ramil de Jesus.
“Syempre happy ako na sila ang teammates ko. Nakasama ko na sila dati [kaya] parang ico-continue lang namin ang ‘yung mga dati na bonding,” said Galang, who was undecided on entering the draft due to her studies and knee injury before a last-minute change of heart.
“Oo syempre, parang La Salle pa rin ‘yung feeling kasi hindi mo na maaalis ‘yun parang it runs in the blood ‘yung pagiging La Sallian namin. I’m home,” Galang added.

Coming from a successful UAAP title run, the soft-spoken but hard-hitting spiker sets her focus on helping carry over her collegiate success to the four-year old club. But she admits she has a lot of work to do to level up and be at par with her veteran opponents.
“Ako, honestly, iniisip ko kung paano ko ii-improve ‘yung sarili ko, kung paano ang magiging contribution ko for the team and kung paano ba ako magpapakundisyon sa sarili ko and paano ko i-a-angat ang sarili ko,” she said.
Galang landed with F2 Logictics after RC Cola Army passed its top pick in a strange twist to the draft proceedings.
