F2 Logistics is picking fifth in the Super Liga rookie draft and is hoping to find a way, via trade or other means, to be able to land Ara Galang.
“Napag-uusapan na rin ‘yan, kung hindi namin siya makukuha idadaan sa trade,” said a source.
RC Cola picks first, followed Generika, Perpetual, Standard Insurance-Navy, F2 Logistics, Cignal, Petron and Foton.
The source said officials believe Galang will be better taken cared of at F2 where she will be reunited with teammates and staff who are familiar with her health situation.
Galang suffered a knee injury in the UAAP finals and officials hope she would end up with the same coaching staff that took care of her while she was in college.
The team is working on a possible trade that could reunite the prized rookie to be with former teammates Mika Reyes, Cyd Demecillo, Kim Fajardo, Kim Dy, Majoy Baron and Dawn Macandili, said the source.
PSL rookie draft is on Friday at the Music Hall Oval of the Mall of Asia Arena. Galang showed up at the rookie camp and signed up for the draft.
The source also insisted Galang may hurt herself again by pushing too hard. The 21-year-old pride of Angeles, Pampanga also had ACL, MCL, and meniscus tears on her left knee that forced her to skip the UAAP Finals last year.
“Oo nga, eh alam mo naman ang life span ng atleta, given this kind of level, mga nasa five years lang yan tapos kung may injury pa at napabayaan pwedeng two to three years na lang, sayang naman,” he added.
