IMUS City — Sta. Lucia arranged a battle for fifth showdown with Cocolife after an easy win over listless Cherrylume, 25-15, 25-14, 25-20, in the classification round of the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference at the Imus Sports Complex here.
FIl-American spiker Mar-Jana Philips led the way for Sta. Lucia with 21 points, anchored on 18 hits, while Pam Lastimosa added 14.
The Lady Realtors and the Asset Managers will clash for fifth place on Saturday.
“Cocolife isa sa mga teams na bago tulad namin and mga champion players din from different teams. Hungry din kami na makapwesto kami talaga (for fifth spot),” said Sta. Lucia coach Sammy Acaylar.
The Lady Realtors finished dead last in the Invitational Conference with a winless campaign but bounced back in the All Filipino tournament with a chance end up fifth.
Sta. Lucia doubled Cherrylume’s attack points (44-22), had better defense at the net (9-3) and capitalized on the Iron Lady Warriors’ poor reception (6-0 service aces) in a match that took 69 minutes to finish.
Seth Rodriguez finished with eight points for Cherrylume, which will face Generic-Ayala for the seventh place.
