PHILIPPINE Air Force completed a sweep of the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference title series with a 25-19, 25-17, 28-26, over Cignal on Wednesday at the Philsports Arena.
Ismail Fauzi took the Finals Most Valuable Player honors as he finished 16 points in Game Two for the Airmen, who won their first title in the league.
Airmen coach Rhovyl Verayo credited the team’s success to the health of the squad throughout the conference.
“Ngayong conference kasi wala kaming injury, lahat healthy,” Verayo said.
Howard Mojica added 12 for the Airmen, who still needed to earn the third set to win the crown.
“’Yung Cignal alam naman natin yung Cignal yung puso nila, lahat naman talaga nun grabe eh, hindi basta basta ibibigay sa amin eh,” Verayo said.
