AIR Force dominated Cignal, 25-19, 25-16, 25-19, on Monday at the Philsports Arena to take Game One of the Spikers Turf Open Conference finals.
Fauzi Ismail led the Airmen with 21 points while Howard Mojica added 11 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three finals series.
Airmen head coach Rhovyl Verayo was pleased with what he saw as his team has jelled at the right time.
“Nung una yung nilaro nila (Air Force), alam kong malakas sila, kaso hindi sila naglalaro noon as a team. Individual ‘yung nilalaro nila. So ngayon, nag-focus kami ng coaches, yung laro as a team talaga,” Verayo said.
“Tapos inimprove namin ‘yung blocking tapos ‘yung receiving, ‘yung unang laban namin ‘yun ‘yung problema namin eh,” said Verayo.
