KUNGFU Reyes led a different team to victory as the University of Santo Tomas coach suited up for Philippine Army and went on to beat 100 Plus, 28-26, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, in the 2nd Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday.
The former UST three-time UAAP champion setter turned back the clock in making 28 of the team’s 47 excellent sets as Army joined defending champion Cignal and Philippine Air Force in the early lead (1-0).
Meanwhile, Patrick John Rojas finished with 19 points, while Benjaylo Labide added 14 markers for the Troopers, Joel Villoson made 12 and Antonio Torres chipped in 10.
Philip Bagalay’s 22 points went down the drain as 100 Plus dropped to 0-2. Jasper Adorador and Paul Cuzon added 14 and 10 markers, respectively.
