PLDT MyDSL took the top spot in the men’s division of the Super Liga Grand Prix after downing Maybank, 25-21, 25-13, 25-24, on Wednesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Henry Pecana came up with 12 points for the Speed Boosters, while Dominico Lucindo, Jayson Ramos, Kheeno Franco and Marlon Macabulos had a combined 25 points.
Although tied with Giligan's and Systema with a 2-1 win-loss card, PLDT MyDSL has the highest quotient to claim the top spot.
"(This win) has merit kasi sila (Maybank) ulit ang makakalaban naming (sa semifinals) mas mahirap kalaban ang Giligan's at Systema," said PLDT MyDSL coach Francis Vicente. Had the Speed Boosters lost, they would drop to the second spot and face the Active Spikers instead.
Ivan Bacolod finished with 10 markers for the Tigers, who remained winless in three games in the eliminations.
