La Salle leads with a 9-2 record followed by Ateneo at 7-3 and Far Eastern University at 7-4.
Rondina had with 25 points and 16 digs, while Alessandrini added 19 markers from 11 kills, five of the team’s 12 blocks and three service aces.
“This time kasi, especially sa core ng team, and with the community, gusto namin ma-gain ulit ’yung respeto namin sa sarili namin,” said UST coach Kungfu Reyes, whose team struggled with five straight losses.
“Doon sa standing naman, siyempre andiyan lang naman ‘yun, pero kung ‘di namin gagalawan, 'di kami makakarating sa Final Four,” he added.
UST will have a long break due to the Holy Week and Reyes is hoping that they can make use of the time to work on their weaknesses before they face Ateneo on April 4, La Salle on April 8 and Adamson on April 14.
“‘Yung remaining three games para sa amin, pagtratrabuhin namin,” he said.
Team captain Jaja Santiago scored 27 points for NU, while Audrey Parad added 11.
