Shun Takahasi is amazed at the popularity of volleyball in the country and how even deputy coaches like him are given much attention.

IT has been two weeks since Shun Takahashi arrived in Manila to help train the PSL squad for the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship, but the Japanese coach is still not yet used to all the attention.

The 26-year old Takahashi, deputy to head coach Moro Branislav at F2 Logistics Manila, has been getting much more than selfie requests.

"Pictures and selfies (are) ok," said Takahashi with a thumbs up.

But the former Japan national team setter admitted it sometimes gets uncomfortable, and revealed he was shocked to get 40 Facebook friend requests in one day.

"Because there's no privacy anymore," he said. "Because I came here (in the) Philippines to teach and train volleyball."

"One day, 40 people sent me friend requests on Facebook. In Japan, my Facebook friends are my (personal) friends only," he said.
