COACH Shaq delos Santos says he is not closing the door on Rhea Dimaculangan’s return even as the national team reserve setter relinquished her spot on the squad training for the Asian Games next month in Indonesia.
The Petron setter cited personal reasons when asked by a handful of reporters on Saturday after the Blaze Spikers’ win over University of the Philippines-UAI at The Arena in San Juan.
“Hindi namin isasarado ’yung position niya na ’yun sa national team,” said the veteran mentor.
Delos Santos also revealed that Dimaculangan wants to take a time out from volleyball.
Dimaculangan is a member of the national team that played in the 2015 Singapore and 2017 Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Games and the AVC Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship last year in Manila.
Foton middle blocker Maika Ortiz replaces Dimaculangan as reserve along with Cocolife libero Denden Lazaro.
