AS the year ends, the contract of Shaq de los Santos as Philippine women’s volleyball team coach expires and it is uncertain if he will be retained to call the shots for the national team in the 30th Southeast Asian Games Philippines this 2019.
Pahinga muna regarding diyan.”
De los Santos won two titles with Petron in the Philippine Superliga and called the shots for the women’s national volleyball team in the Asian Games and AVC Asian Cup.
Petron won the Grand Prix and All-Filipino, both at the expense of F2 Logistics, which took them down in the Invitational Conference.
De los Santos was appointed women’s national volleyball team head coach when Ramil de Jesus decided to step down and focus on F2 Logistics and La Salle.
The Philippines defeated Hong Kong in straight sets in the group stages, the country’s first Asian Games match win in volleyball since defeating India in the 1982 New Delhi Games.
The team fell at the quarterfinal stage of the Asian Games and placed ninth in the AVC Asian Cup.
“Sobrang saya and thankful talaga.
