THE Shakey’s V-League is not switching channels.
League commissioner Tony Boy Liao said ABS-CBN Sports had expressed interest in airing the games but it has decided to stick with AKTV for the upcoming first conference of Season 10.
“AKTV pa rin kami, doon pa rin kami lalabas,” Liao told Spin.ph on Wednesday.
The new V-League season will open on April 7 at The Arena in San Juan with 10 teams led by defending champions Ateneo Lady Eagles, although league officials still don’t know when the games will be aired.
“I don’t know pa kung April 7 kami (start of airing) kasi may PBA,” Liao said.
Games will be aired on a delayed basis on AKTV’s primetime slot over IBC-13, the same network that airs the PBA games.
Aside from the Lady Eagles, also seeing action in the first conference are University of Santo Tomas, Letran, San Sebastian, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, Adamson, Arellano, and National University.
De La Salle-Dasmarinas and University of San Carlos-Cebu have also joined the tournament.
