STRONG Group Athletics (SGA) doubled down on its commitment to Alas Pilipinas, pledging full support and financial backing for whichever players from the several squads it backs will be called up to the national team pool.
In an official statement released on Thursday, the Frank Lao-backed stable re-affirmed its willingness to lend talents from its PVL squads ZUS Coffee and Farm Fresh, as well as the collegiate programs it bankrolls in University of Santo Tomas, the University of the Philippines, NCAA champion Letran, and Benilde.
“In light of the reported shortage of players for the upcoming 2026 AVC Women’s Cup, Strong Group Athletics expresses its willingness to pool the best talents from its teams from both professional and collegiate in support of the national team campaign in the AVC,” the statement read.

The move comes at a critical point for Alas, which is currently navigating a wave of player withdrawals, availability concerns and scheduling conflicts ahead of the continental meet in Candon City next month.
SGA support
SGA also emphasized that any of its collegiate prospects will stand on level ground with its professional standouts - whomever among them will be called upon to wear the flag.
“All collegiate players who will be selected for the national roster pool will be given the same compensation and benefits as PVL draftees, including win-game bonuses and practice allowances,” it added.
With multiple players from SGA already linked to national team consideration, the stable now appears ready to become one of the biggest pillars behind Alas moving forward.
