ONLY eight players showed up for the national women's volleyball team practice on Wednesday, hours before the final lineup for the Southeast Asian Games women's volleyball is to be announced.
From the 13 members of the national pool, only Alyssa Valdez, Jaja Santiago, Gretcel Soltones, Jia Morado, Rhea Dimaculangan, Maika Ortiz, Bea de Leon and Denden Lazaro were present at the Blue Eagle gym.
"Ayan lang, sila lang ang nagpunta," said national team coach Roger Gorayeb.
Only one player will be left out from the pool.

Sources said Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Rachel Anne Daquis, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Aby Maraño and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas were practicing with their respective club teams in the Shakey's V-League.
Santiago-Manabat, Daquis and Gonzaga are with Army, which will face PLDT Home Ultera in the Shakey's V-League Season 12 Open Conference finals beginning on Thursday.
Maraño and Maizo-Pontillas are with Meralco and Cagayan, respectively, which will battle in a consolation game for third place.
Valdez, Santiago, Soltones and Lazaro are playing for unbeaten PLDT, which is coached by Gorayeb.
