SAN Beda University skipper Cesca Racraquin urged her teammates not to get intimidated as they try to force a rubber match against defending champion Arellano University in the NCAA Season 93 women’s volleyball tournament.
SBU put up a gallant stand against AU only to crumble late in the game, 15-25, 16-25, 25-15, 25-22, 6-15, in Game One of the best-of-three Finals on Friday at The Arena in San Juan.
Racraquin admitted that although they lost, they gained confidence heading into Game Two on Monday.
The do-it-all team captain, though, was quick to take the blame in their fifth set collapse.
“I think nawalan kami ng reception.
During the post-game huddle, Racraquin only had a few words to say to her teammates.
But she believed that those were enough to pump up their low morale.
Lumaban lang kayo,” said Racraquin who finished with 21 points, 21 digs and 23 excellent receptions for SBU.
