SAN Beda romped to its fourth straight victory as it dumped Mapua in straight sets, 25-8, 25-11, 25-23, in the 98th NCAA women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan on Friday.
Frances Molina came away with 19 and Janine Marciano poured in 18 points, including seven the team's 16 service aces, as the Lionesses kept St. Benilde company at the top of the standings.
Precious Sedeno made four markers for Mapua.
In other women's matches, Emilio Aguinaldo College downed Lyceum, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, to improve to 3-1 (win-loss). Charmille Belleza had 18 points, while Arian Angustia and Charlette Lorenzo added 14 and 12, respectively for the Lady Generals.
Jhemil Abadilla produced 16 markers while Cherilyn Sindayen added 15 and Analee Paredes contributed 13 for the Lady Pirates, who remained winless after four games.
In men's action, EAC turned back Lyceum, 25-27, 25-23, 25-13, 25-17, behind the heroics of Howard Mojica, Kerth Melliza and Sid Gerella.
James Satsatin had nine points for Lyceum, which is still winless after four games.
San Beda denied Mapua, 26-24, 25-23, 25-17.
