THE Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) has unveiled an initial pool of 27 players for the 2026 AVC Women’s Cup set June 6 to 14 in Candon City, leaning on a mix of Alas Pilipinas mainstays and fresh faces from the PVL, UAAP, NCAA, and overseas.

PNVF president Tony Boy Liao did not provide SPIN.ph an official copy of the list when requested, instead pointing to “press releases” circulated to select media outlets. The list offers a clear glimpse of the program’s direction heading into the continental meet.

Of the 27, 11 potential debutants headline the pool, including Galeries Tower’s Jean Asis, Cignal’s Erika Santos, ZUS Coffee’s Riza Nogales, and PLDT’s Kianna Dy, who has yet to return to national team action since the Alas Pilipinas rebrand in 2024.

The collegiate ranks are well-represented, with several UAAP and NCAA standouts earning consideration. National University’s Sam Cantada and Shaira Jardio lead the UAAP newcomers, alongside Far Eastern University’s Tin Ubaldo and Jaz Ellarina, and University of the Philippines middle Nina Ytang.

From the NCAA, Letran’s Vanessa Sarie and reigning MVP Zam Nolasco of College of St. Benilde also made the cut.

In total, 16 Alas Women regulars have been invited back, pending confirmation of their availability. The PVL core remains intact, led by team captain Jia De Guzman, with Bella Belen, Eya Laure, Alleiah Malaluan, and Vanie Gandler reinforcing the wings.

Middle presence comes from Maddie Madayag and Fifi Sharma, while the backline stays steady with liberos Jen Nierva and Justine Jazareno.

Rounding out the UAAP contingent are Angel Canino, Shaina Nitura, Arah Panique, Amie Provido, and Shevana Laput, the latter having been part of previous national team discussions but yet to see action due to eligibility concerns.

The pool remains subject to final alignment, but early indications point to a balanced build of experience and youth as the Philippines gears up for its home campaign in the AVC Women’s Cup.
