ARELLANO star Regine Arocha learned her lesson from their lone elimination round defeat to San Beda Lady Red Spikers, that’s why she stepped up when it mattered most in their NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball Final Four duel.
Arocha struggled with 10 points in their five-set loss to San Beda that denied Arellano from sweeping the eliminations and earning an outright Finals berth last week.
The reigning Finals MVP admitted that the team felt remorseful of the squandered chance of easily entering the Finals.
But instead of regretting, Arocha and the Lady Chiefs accepted the lesson and bounced back in the more important match in the Final Four sweeping the Lady Red Spikers in straight sets, 25-18, 25-21, 25-23, to march in the NCAA Finals for the third straight season on Tuesday at the Arena in San Juan City.
Masaya po kami ngayon na nanalo kami,” said the outside hitter, who led the way for Arellano with 17 points off 13 spikes, two service aces and two blocks.
Arocha also responded to the challenge of Arellano head coach Obet Javier, who asked her to show her leadership and step up as a senior spiker.
So kahit papaano yung seniority niya, andoon na. Kumbaga, umaangat na eh,” said Javier on Arocha.
Arocha and the Lady Chiefs are still waiting for their rival in the best-of-three finals as University of Perpetual Help and College of Saint Benilde will clash in a rubber match Tuesday next week for the last Finals berth.
