REBISCO-PSL Manila put up a gallant stand but fell short against Vietin Bank, 25-21,17-25, 25-20, 25-14, in the 2017 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship on Friday at Boris Alexandrov Sports Palace in Kazakhstan.

Then Dinh Thi made 24 points for Vietin Bank, while Kim Hue Pham Thi added 15, Thur Le Thanh had 14, Xuan Doan Thi chipped in 12.

Although Rebisco-PSL had a better distribution from setter Kim Fajardo, who had 48 of the team’s 52 excellent sets compared to Vietin Bank, which only had a total of 28 excellent sets, it did not translate more points as the Vietnamese team scored more on attacks (66-44).

Jaja Santiago led the way for Rebisco-PSL with 17 points, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and Aby Marano added 10 markers apiece.

The Manila team remained winless in two outings, coming off a straight set loss to Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs Japan on Thursday.
