PSL Manila falters at the first hurdle, bows in straight sets to Japanese club in Asian meet

REBISCO-PSL Manila absorbed a beating from Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs Japan, 17-25, 10-25, 14-25, in its debut in the 2017 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship on Thursday at Boris Alexandrov Sports Palace in Kazakhstan.

Moriya Fumika scored 14 points for Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs Japan, while Taura Yuka and Imamura Yuka combined for 23 markers.

Jaja Santiago led the way for Rebisco-PSL Manila with 16 points, 15 on attacks, while setter Kim Fajardo added four markers.

Jovelyn Gonzaga, Maika Ortiz and Ces Molina also had three points apiece for the Manila team.
