ZUS Coffee has posted back-to-back wins for the first time in franchise history.
The Thunderbelles cut Galeries Tower down to size in a 25-22, 25-16, 25-19 sweep in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Philsports Arena.

Chinnie Arroyo led the quartet of new signings who topscored in their second-ever PVL victory with 14 points built on 11 attacks, two aces and one block.

Newest signing Chai Troncoso also dished out 11 markers as team captain Cloanne Mondoñedo’s 12 excellent sets, including the game-winning point, capped the winning effort in the one-and-a-half hour contest.
A steady 10-piece in Jho Maraguinot’s second outing for Galeries Tower went for naught as they dropped further down the pack with their fourth loss in as many matches.
It is all about desire
Wanting to win and fighting to win are two different things. Thea Gagate, hailing from a successful college team at La Salle, knows that.
At ZUS Coffee, Gagate hopes to see that winning culture slowly grow after a 0-20 start to its PVL campaign.

“Thankful ako siyempre sa mga kasama ko kasi ginugusto rin nilang maglaro talaga para sa team. Hindi lang naman ako 'yung may ganung goal.
“It’s a team effort talaga so happy lang din ako na pati coaches, management, players, gusto talaga nilang ayusin and buuin [‘yung laro namin] para maging malakas pa kami as a team.”
As Gagate puts it, “Although we’re a new team, parang halos lahat kami puro bata, we just wanted to give a new energy for this conference.”
