ALAS Pilipinas players cannot simply return to their PVL teams while they remain on national team duty, with league control committee chairman Sherwin Malonzo reiterating their availability remains subject to the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.
“Alas players are not cleared to play unless they are released by the PNVF,” Malonzo told SPIN.ph.
The same rule was already in effect during the 2026 PVL on Tour, when players included in the national team pool were required to secure a PNVF release before being allowed to play for their respective clubs.
The policy could again come into play, as the league calendar overlaps with the international season.
Key absences for Creamline and PLDT
The players potentially affected are Creamline’s Jia de Guzman and Jen Nierva and PLDT’s Dell Palomata, all of whom are part of the Alas setup.

The mandated FIVB calendar runs from May 5 to October 5, and includes the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games scheduled for September 16 to 22.
