BEYOND being sister teams, Creamline and Choco Mucho arguably boast two of the league’s biggest fanbases.
And in the 18 PVL meetings between them, all eyes have always been on how the fan-favorite Flying Titans would fare against the 10-time champions.
In fact, Game 2 of the 2023 Second All-Filipino Conference finals still holds the record for the most-attended Philippine volleyball game ever — 24,459 fans cramming the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But despite those finals showdowns, both won by Creamline, the numbers suggest it hasn’t quite been a rivalry in the traditional sense.
And it all boils down to one scintillating statistic: their head-to-head record.
Creamline’s 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 sweep of Choco Mucho in Thursday’s import-laced clash marked its 17th win in 18 meetings, and five in a row since May 9 last year, against their Rebisco siblings.
It was also the sixth time a Creamline vs. Choco Mucho matchup ended in straight sets, with all six going the pink shirts’ way.
The most common result in their 18 meetings, however, is a four-set win which has happened eight times.
And, unsurprisingly, all eight of those victories also went to the Cool Smashers.
On top of that, all three of their Reinforced Conference clashes in 2022, 2024, and 2025 were also Creamline wins.
Fight or flight?
Choco Mucho’s lone win came in the single round-robin semifinals of the 2024 All-Filipino Conference, a victory that required a monumental effort.
It was a 13-25, 19-25, 21-25, 20-25, 18-16 reverse-sweep win powered by Sisi Rondina’s 23 points, that spared the Flying Titans from further infamy at the hands of their multi-titled sister team.
As for the 2025 Reinforced Conference, the script hasn’t changed as Creamline is comfortably playoff-bound, while Choco Mucho is fighting for its life.
Creamline’s prelims finale against Cignal on Tuesday will be about seeding, but Choco Mucho’s do-or-die clash with Akari is all about survival as a loss means instant elimination from the playoff race.
