MONTALBAN — Choco Mucho’s 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-21 win over Akari was about far more than finishing with pride.
For the Flying Titans, it became a match played with purpose for someone who's been among their heart and soul in recent years.

Choco Mucho took the court wearing white ribbons in solidarity with libero Thang Ponce, who was notably absent from the match-day lineup at Ynares Center II.
The 28-year-old defensive anchor was unable to join the team after the sudden passing of a family member — her sister, SPIN.ph has learned.
Veteran Bia General stepped in as the starting libero and delivered 24 excellent digs in Ponce’s place.
With their playoff hopes long out of reach, the Flying Titans made it a point to fight with heart until the final point, channeling their energy toward honoring a grieving teammate.
“May nangyari nga kay Thang-thang so inaalay namin itong win sa kanya,” said Royse Tubino, choosing not to go deeper into Ponce’s difficult situation.
Choco Mucho closes its Reinforced Conference run at 3-5, marking the third straight edition of import-laced play where it missed the playoffs.
But on a night heavy with emotion, the win meant something more than the standings could ever show.
