For one of their many MVP aces in Jema Galanza, more’s still to come for the team that’s already won it all.
Galanza missed a huge chunk of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference to fulfill her Alas Pilipinas duties, but made it just in the nick of time for Creamline’s last two matches to get two-thirds of the job done en route to a hat-trick of titles.
That month-long period of absence made the fan-favorite spiker and pioneering member realize what really makes her champion club special.
Even if you take all its ‘superstars’ away, Creamline will still find a way to grow and glow.
“Maraming nangyari ngayong taon. ‘Di ako naglaro ng isang conference. Malaking adjustment sa’kin din na kahit ang tagal ko silang nakasama, pagbalik ko, medyo nag-adjust din naman po ako,” Galanza shared with SPIN.ph.
“After ng Grand Slam, lahat nag-step-up, lahat nag-improve, lahat gumaling. Siyempre ikaw, iisipin mo rin, ano pa ‘yung pwede mong maitulong sa kanila kahit na nag-iimprove din ‘yung team mo.”

To be in such an environment that fosters individual development just as much as collective growth for the last seven years has done wonders for Galanza’s stellar career.
Something that continues to encourage her even after all the championships and successes they’ve reaped together is the Cool Smashers’ unquenchable thirst for more.
“Grabe ‘yung growth na binigay sa’kin ng Creamline personally, hindi lang sa volleyball pati sa life ko. Ngayon, sobrang tagal na namin, ano pa bang pwede naming gawin?
Galanza furthered, “‘Yun din ‘yung maganda na ang tagal-tagal na naming magkakasama, every year, every conference, nag-iimprove pa rin kami. ‘Yun din kasi ‘yung mahirap mo rin talagang mahanap. Sa sobrang tagal niyo na, ano pa ba ‘yung kaya niyong pagandahin?”
The way to go with a good problem to have? Ensuring the team stays fit and intact for what might just be a year of even more breakthroughs for the land’s best volleyball team.
“Gusto ko lang healthy lang talaga lahat mentally, physically, emotionally, lahat-lahat kami. Wala na kong ibang iwi-wish pa,” she said.
