ALYSSA Valdez said it felt 'weird' ending a a personal three-year title drought.
The pride of San Juan, Batangas steered Creamline to its maiden title in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference via sweep of PayMaya in their best-of-three finals finals on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.
The former UAAP MVP out of Ateneo last won a championship with a star-studden PLDT team in the 2015 Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference and said it felt good to be reacquianted with the winning feeling.
“It’s weird because I don’t know really the feeling nung last time na nag-champion talaga ako,” said the Creamline star.
“So hindi ko talaga alam but it feels so good na nakakuha kami ng panalo and championship this conference,” she added.
After settling for a pair of third-place finishes last season, the Cool Smashers finally went all the way while overcoming challenges like injuries and import changes.
The team also had to endure coach Tai Bundit’s famous three-hour training.
“I think that’s another milestone kasi hindi kami nabuwag or nasira,” said Valdez.
