POCARI Sweat foiled Air Force's victory party with a 17-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20 victory in Game 2 of the Shakey's V-League Season 13 Open Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Saturday.
The Lady Warriors, who recovered from a lethargic opening frame, forced a deciding match in the best-of-three finale.
"Ganun yata talaga kami, nagpapabugbog sa una. Good thing na-overcome namin yung one-set deficit at nakabangon mga bata," said assistant coach Rommel Abella.
Myla Pablo led all scorers with 19 points, 17 on spikes, for the Lady Warriors, who weathered an Air Force comeback in the fourth set.
The Jet Spikers gained steam in the fourth frame and even took a 16-15 lead. But Michelle Gumabao restored order for Pocari Sweat with a kill. The former La Salle star would later on score on an offspeed shot, before Siemens Dadang's block on May Ann Pantino sealed the win.
Air Force was paced by Pantino's 17 points.
Game 3 is on Monday, 6 p.m. at the same venue.
