VANIE Gandler couldn't be any more thrilled to play alongside multi-awarded Dawn Macandili-Catindig in the Cignal HD Spikers camp.
Gandler believes Macandili-Catindig can carry the team to new heights as shown by her performance during Cignal's straight-set rout of Chery Tiggo in the 2024 PNVF Champions League.

"It’s such a big impact that Dawn has in this team. I think one thing that people don’t know is how vocal of a leader she is, which is super helpful in our team," said Gandler.
And in the brief time they've spent together thus far, Gandler bared how she found herself a mentor in the former De La Salle Lady Spiker.

"I’m just so shocked and starstrucked with Dawn. She really teaches me, she corrects us, and she also asks us for help so it’s really nice because we all work as one," said Gandler who calls Dawn Ate or elder sister.
With just two weeks left for Cignal and the rest of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) field to integrate their newest pieces ahead of the season-opener, Gandler knows the tall order they face, but she's happy that their team, the reigning bronze medalists, is 'slowly coming together.'
"There’s definitely still so much to work on. We’re just halfway through our preparations and there’s still so much to learn. But of course, you could see that our team is slowly coming together especially from last conference and hopefully it’s enough coming into the PVL, as well."
