UNIVERSITY of the Philippines debuted with a big victory and kept University of Perpetual Help winless, 25-10, 25-12, 25-23, in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
Lady Maroons coach Godfrey Okumu, however, was not too pleased.
“In the third set, we were trying to do things in a haste,” said Okumu.
“We were in a hurry, those are the some of all the small things that happen in the game. We were able to recover because we knew what we were doing right.”
Marian Buitre had seven markers for UP, while Maristela Layug, Aieshalaine Ganaban and Roselyn Rosier each had five points.
Jowie Versoza scored seven for Perpetual Help, which absorbed its third loss.
