GRETHCEL Soltones isn’t flinching when it comes to voicing out her thoughts on social media.
From defending Akari in the aftermath of last year’s Reinforced Conference saga to weighing in on social issues, the veteran Chargers winger refuses to confine herself into being an athlete.
It’s a matter of maximizing the platform she’s been given as a public figure to speak and be hear.

Some might agree with her, others might not, but the mere ability to exercise her free speech is all that matters for a strong-willed Soltones.
“As long as wala akong naaapakang tao, I say what I want. If I’m wrong, I’ll say sorry naman. As a strong personality din talaga, kung ano yung gusto kong sabihin na tama, talagang sinasabi ko,” Soltones told SPIN.ph.
“Kung ano yung desisyon ko, dapat i-respect niyo kasi nire-respect ko rin yung sa kanila.”

May it be back in the day as a college player or as a mainstay in the pros, Soltones has held the receiving end of public criticism for so long that it doesn’t affect her one bit anymore.
Her 13-piece in Akari’s quarterfinals clincher over Galeries Tower did all the talking on the court.
But expect her to remain undeterred even if people continue to question and raise eyebrows on her.
“Wala na akong pake kasi ang mindset ko na kasi, more on how to handle things in a mature way, na more mature pa. Lahat naman ng sinasabi ng mga tao, hindi na sa’kin nagma-matter except lang sa mga taong nagmamahal sa’kin.
Soltones added: “’Pag wala naman akong ginagawang mali and wala akong nasaktang iba, okay ako.”
