ATENEO clipped Adamson’s wings in four sets, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, for its second win in UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Taks Fujimoto’s 15 excellent sets and a pair of 22-point outings from Lyann De Guzman and Sobe Buena paved the way for Ateneo’s rise to the top five.

The Blue Eagles find themselves in a tie for fifth-place with the Lady Falcons at 2-4 (win-loss) ahead of the first-round finale this weekend.
"I’m so happy with how the team played all the time with energy and they followed the tactics. And the most important [thing], we used our service because the service is the first attack. You can make a big job with this skill," said Ateneo head coach Sergio Veloso.
"Everybody, not only these three players, played very well today and I’m so happy."

It was all going reasonably well for the Blue Eagles until they hit the 20-point mark in what was supposed to be a match-clinching third set.
From 20-12 up, Ateneo fell prey to a red-hot 13-2 Adamson run led by back-to-back 11-point performances from captain Lucille Almonte and Ishie Lalongisip.
The Blue Eagles refused to be on the tail-end of a brewing reverse sweep by making up for 29 unforced errors with a game-high 69 attack points, 49 digs, and 30 receptions to hold a comeback-seeking Lady Falcons side at bay and level in the team standings.
Two 12-piece displays from top Ateneo aces AC Miner and Zel Tsunashima beefed up a strong attacking showcase for the Katipunan side on top of 19 digs and 16 receptions from senior skipper Roma Doromal.
